This deliverable from Work Package 5 on Regulation and Taxation examines the nutritional quality of the food offer across 19 European countries, using branded food composition data collected during the JA Best-ReMaP. It compares the food offer, labelling parameters, and nutritional composition across five food categories, while considering the nutrition policies implemented in participating countries.
The report also explores alternative sources of data for monitoring the food supply, assessing the representativeness and reliability of Euromonitor’s structured nutritional data in comparison with the Best-ReMaP in-store dataset. Together, the analyses provide an overview of the nutritional quality of the European food supply and contribute to strengthening future monitoring and policy development within the JA PreventNCD.
