On October 20-21, the Social Inequality team (work package 7) gathered for its second annual in-person meeting at the University Hospital of Montpellier (CHUM) for an inspiring two-day event focused on addressing and reducing social and health inequalities in Europe.
Leadership and Participants
The meeting was chaired by work package Lead Raffaella Bucciardini, Co-Lead Fanni Meszaros. Importantly, all task leaders and Subtask Leaders took part in the meeting, presenting their progress and engaging in constructive discussions on the next steps and future directions.
Also in attendance were the Project Coordinators, Knut Inge Klepp, Linda Granlund, and Knut Jønsrud, who shared their insights and encouragement for the ongoing implementation of WP7 activities.
Day 1 – Progress and Theory of Change
Day one focused on sharing progress across all tasks, with a particular focus on the Theory of Change - a key framework guiding how the work package defines its expected outcomes and monitors progress and impact over time. The day concluded with a guided visit at the historic Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier, offering informal exchange and team cohesion.
Day 2 – Pilot Actions and Synergies
The second day was devoted to reviewing the status and progress of pilot actions addressing health inequalities monitoring, health literacy, and vulnerable groups. The collaborative atmosphere at CHUM encouraged open dialogue and strengthened connections among participants, reinforcing a shared commitment toward common objectives.
