YAG Event V2

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) remain one of the world’s greatest health and development challenges, yet prevention and control continue to be chronably underfunded. At the same time, public budgets must respond to many competing priorities, including defence, economic recovery, employment, urban development, and food systems.

Budget for Hope: Two Cents for NCDs is an interactive online financing lab that invites participants to explore a key question: if we had €100 million to invest in recovery and resilience, how much should go to NCD prevention, and why?

Through a structured and participatory simulation inspired by real-world budgeting processes, participants will examine how limited public resources are allocated across competing priorities and reflect on the continued underinvestment in NCD prevention and control.

This workshop is limited to 30 participants. It is open to those who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Youth advocates aged 18–30
  • Public health professionals, or students in health policy or health economics
  • People interested in European health governance

Confirmed participants will receive the event link by email. Selection is taking place on a rolling basis.

This workshop is organised by the Youth Advisory Group of JA PreventNCD, funded by the European Commission, and supported by the Youth Chapter on NCD Prevention, a Thematic Network of the EU Health Policy Platform.
