Unhealthy eating habits, such as consuming a diet high in saturated fat, sugar and salt, are among the factors that contribute to an increased risk of developing non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including overweight and obesity, cardiovascular diseases, dental caries and diabetes. Monitoring the food supply at brand level is useful for taking stock of the market's nutritional state at a given time, as well as for helping to define and assess nutrition policies.

As part of the work on improving consumers' food environments within the JA PreventNCD Work Package on Taxation and Regulation, the team supporting public policies for food reformulation is pleased to invite you to the webinar "Reformulation Monitoring: Implementation, First Results and Uses", taking place on 20 November 2026, from 11:00 to 12:00 CET.

The webinar will present experiences from implementing reformulation monitoring systems, share initial findings, and discuss how the data can be used to inform nutrition policy and public health action.

Preliminary agenda:

  • The context of food reformulation monitoring

  • First results of the state of play: example of soft drinks

  • Alternative sources of data
