Meeting location: Katowice International Conference Centre, Plac Sławika i Antalla 1, 40-163 Katowice, Poland

*Previously known as EU-CCP (European Consortium on Cancer Prevention), the initiative has now evolved to cover cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) across Europe.

The Joint Action Prevent Non-Communicable Diseases (JA PreventNCD) aims to tackle persistently high rates of cancer and other NCDs across the EU by supporting effective strategies and minimizing duplication of efforts. A key ambition is to strengthen national and European actions and ensure that sustainable disease prevention initiatives continue beyond the life of the project.

To support this vision, JA PreventNCD is mandated to develop and help establish a multi-layered European Consortium on Non-Communicable Diseases (EU-CNCD), intended to continue after the project concludes in December 2027.

Building on discussions from the 1st EU-CCP/EU-CNCD Meeting held in Brussels on 11 September 2024, the 2nd EU-CNCD Meeting will take place in-person in Katowice on 17–18 June 2025. This second meeting will serve as a deep dive into defining the Consortium’s long-term vision, scope, aims, and organizational structure. Special attention will be given to equity and wellbeing perspectives, and to shaping a sustainable body that is effective, inclusive, and public health-driven.

The event will also introduce and discuss a zero-draft concept outlining the functions and operations of the EU-CNCD, and will actively engage organized youth representatives to bring forward youth perspectives on policy and action development, particularly considering both traditional and digital realities.

We warmly invite you to contribute your experience and expertise to help shape a dynamic and impactful future Consortium.

Below you can see the agenda for the meeting.
