EU CNCD Header

Organizer: JA PreventNCD Sustainability Team (WP4) – National Institute of Public Health Slovenia and Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland

Date: 17–18 June 2025

Meeting location: Katowice International Conference Centre, Plac Sławika i Antalla 1, 40-163 Katowice, Poland

*Previously launched as the European Consortium on Cancer Prevention (EU-CCP), the initiative has evolved into the European Consortium on Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention (EU-CNCD Prevention), expanding its scope to cover cancer and other NCDs across Europe.

The Joint Action Prevent Non-Communicable Diseases (JA PreventNCD) addresses the persistently high rates of cancer and other NCDs in the EU by supporting evidence-based prevention strategies and policies. The project aims to minimize duplication of efforts and support national and European-level coordination to ensure sustainable and impactful disease prevention.

To ensure this work continues beyond the lifetime of the project (which concludes in December 2027), JA PreventNCD is tasked with establishing a multi-layered European Consortium on Non-Communicable Diseases (EU-CNCD Prevention).

Following the successful 1st EU-CNCD Prevention meeting held in Brussels in September 2024, the 2nd EU-CNCD Prevention meeting will take place in-person in Katowice, Poland, on 17–18 June 2025.

This meeting will offer a deeper discussion on the Consortium’s long-term vision, scope, and structure, with a strong emphasis on equity, wellbeing, and the creation of an inclusive, public health–driven body. Participants will discuss a zero-draft Terms of Reference for the EU-CNCD Prevention and contribute to shaping its mandate and operations.

Organised youth representatives will also be actively involved, providing vital perspectives on how prevention strategies can be shaped in both traditional and digital contexts.

We warmly invite you to join us in shaping a sustainable and impactful future for disease prevention in Europe.
